GUILD DISCIPLINE

"There is no luck except where there is discipline"
It takes a lot of effort from many individuals to build a positive guild community. Unfortunately, all of that effort can be undone by the actions of a single player. In order to maintain the guild rules there needs to be consequences for breaking them.
This page outlines the guild's disciplinary process. The process is intended to be progressive, starting with informal warnings and ending with removal from the guild if inappropriate behavior is not corrected. Extreme violations of the guild's rules will accelerate the disciplinary process.
1
Informal Warning
The first disciplinary action is usually an informal warning. This is a reminder when a player breaks the guild rules that we do have rules and they are to be followed. Informal warnings usually come in the form of a whisper but are occasionally made using guild chat to remind all players what the rules are. As long as the inappropriate behavior stops there is no need for the disciplinary action to progress any further.
Informal warnings are the only disciplinary action that non-officers can take against other members of the guild. All other disciplinary actions listed here can only be issued by a guild officer or the guild master.
2
formal warning
Failure to comply with an informal warning will result in a formal warning from an officer or the guild master. Formal warnings are issued in the form of a whisper to the offending player. If the player's behavior has caused an incident with other members of the guild or the server community those players will also be notified (via whisper) of the formal warning so they understand the guild does not condone the player's behavior and are taking actions to correct it. As long as the player's inappropriate behavior stops there is no need for the disciplinary process to progress any further.
3
suspended rank
Failure to comply with a formal warning will result in a suspension of player rank (demotion). The change in rank and how long it remains in effect is handled on a case-by-case basis. Several factors are considered including the player's history, contributions to the guild, type of offense, degree of offense, and a pattern of behavior. Once the inappropriate behavior stops the player can return to increasing their rank through normal means.
4
Removal from the guild
In extreme cases, a player can be removed from the guild for violating the guild's rules. The player will be notified by an officer or the guild master (usually through whispers) of why they are being removed from the guild. A message will also be sent through guild chat to clarify why the player was removed from the guild.
